Summary

This New York Times bestselling chapter book series has been keeping readers engaged and laughing for more than a decade with over one million copies sold!

When it comes to tackling third grade, Clementine is at the top of her game-okay, so maybe not all the time。 After her teacher announces that the third and fourth graders will be putting on a talent show, Clementine panics。 She doesn't sing or dance or play an instrument。 She can't even hop with finesse。 And as if that didn't make her feel bad enough, her perfect best friend, Margaret, has so many talents, she has to alphabetize them to keep them straight? How can Clementine ever hope to compete?

As the night of the big "Talent-palooza" draws closer, Clementine is desperate for an act, any act。 But the unexpected talent she demonstrates at the show surprises everyone-most of all herself。

This is a lovely story about an amazing little girl。 She is in third grade。 The author has a wonderful of describing Clementine and how she operates and the way she thinks。 I had my third grade class do a novel study and they really enjoyed the book。

Just charming。 This one wrapped up really nicely。 We all have "talents" that might not be cookie cutter。 Just charming。 This one wrapped up really nicely。 We all have "talents" that might not be cookie cutter。 。。。more

A fast read aloud with my elementary age daughter。 Clementine is very much like Ramona the Pest from my time and Junie B。 Jones from my older daughter's time。 She is precocious, brutally honest and totally hilarious。 I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan on reading through the other books in the series that have been sitting on my shelf。Content: nothing offensive, but if you have a kid who likes to act out ideas they get from books you may want to avoid Clementine。 Having said that these are a A fast read aloud with my elementary age daughter。 Clementine is very much like Ramona the Pest from my time and Junie B。 Jones from my older daughter's time。 She is precocious, brutally honest and totally hilarious。 I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan on reading through the other books in the series that have been sitting on my shelf。Content: nothing offensive, but if you have a kid who likes to act out ideas they get from books you may want to avoid Clementine。 Having said that these are also the kinds of books that are great for discussion on appropriate behavior, etc。 。。。more

Aceasta mi-a plăcut mai mult decât prima。 O fetiță care își caută talentul。 Despre empatie și bunătate。 Despre Clementina。

This book was a GREAT read aloud for our family。 I’d just edit on the fly for some incidents you don’t want preschool age people recreating。

I love this series so much。 It hits that early elementary sweet spot with an 8 year old heroine, and it’s both funny and genuinely endearing。In this book, Clementine worries about having no talents for the talent show, while the book at the same time shows a lot of things she’s quite capable at but doesn’t even realize herself。 It kind of hits that idea of not feeling like you’re special enough, but that everyone has their own gifts。

Fun read aloud, very Junie B Jones ish

I love this girl sooo much。

In my review of the first book in this series I said that some of Clementine's ideas are doozies。 Well, this one has some that go way beyond that, and then some。 Clementine means well, and her ideas always sound good, but she doesn't always, (hardly ever!), think things through。 This one had me laughing so hard, but also thinking what wonderfully tolerant and loving parents she has。 She is a very lucky kid。 Clementine wants to come up with something for the school talent show, but doesn't think In my review of the first book in this series I said that some of Clementine's ideas are doozies。 Well, this one has some that go way beyond that, and then some。 Clementine means well, and her ideas always sound good, but she doesn't always, (hardly ever!), think things through。 This one had me laughing so hard, but also thinking what wonderfully tolerant and loving parents she has。 She is a very lucky kid。 Clementine wants to come up with something for the school talent show, but doesn't think she's talented at anything。 Maybe she could tap dance like her friend Margaret, but she would need tap shoes for that。 Hey, what about gluing bottle caps onto the bottom of her tennis shoes? They would make a great clickety clickety sound and she knows just where to get a bunch of bottle caps。 The condo association has beer in the refrigerator for their meetings。 Won't they be happy when they have their next meeting and they don't have to take the bottle caps off their beer because it will already be done for them? They will definitely thank her! Oh boy :( 。。。more

I loved this story! I think the character of Clementine shows the thought processes of a grammar school student pretty accurately。 When she first finds out that there's going to be a talent show, she panics。 But then she talks to her dad conveying that she doesn't think she has a talent。 However, he recognizes and points out her strengths that may not be considered "talents" by some。 But unconvinced, she then turns to her "friend" for help (whom she believes to have too many talents)! This realistic fiction book focuses around 3rd grader, Clementine, who doesn't have any talents to present for the upcoming school talent show。 On her journey to find her personal talents, Clementine discovers that she actually has various talents including being empathetic, helping people, noticing details, and even directing a talent show! In this book, I loved how the author reminds readers that everyone has a talent, even when these talents might not be conventional。 This adorable and funny This realistic fiction book focuses around 3rd grader, Clementine, who doesn't have any talents to present for the upcoming school talent show。 On her journey to find her personal talents, Clementine discovers that she actually has various talents including being empathetic, helping people, noticing details, and even directing a talent show! In this book, I loved how the author reminds readers that everyone has a talent, even when these talents might not be conventional。 This adorable and funny children's book that is most appropriate for 3rd graders gives young children a chance to find their identity in whatever capacity that might be。 I believe that a lot of young children would relate to Clementine's strong-willed, funny, and determined character。 For a 3rd grade classroom, I would love to implement this book as a read-aloud。 This chapter book could be broken up and read over the course of several days。 I think students would be eager for read-aloud time if this story was being read。 After reading the entire story, I think it would be good to have a discussion around the character, Clementine, and how students relate to her。 I think students would probably bring up a lot of good points about identity, their personal talents, and how students could support one another。 Another idea that I have for implementing this book in a 3rd grade classroom would be through doing a character traits activity。 Students could work in small groups and analyze Clementine's character and present their character trait analysis to their classmates。 Groups could compare and contrast what they wrote down on their character worksheet with other groups。 This book is a wow book for me because of how engaging and easy the read is。 The humor and sarcasm in the book is relatable for young children and the plot kept me engaged throughout each chapter。 This book is also a wow book for me because of the great illustrations that added to the details of the story。 I would definitely recommend this book and series for teachers and students in the elementary classroom。 。。。more

Read to Isabel: I just adore these books。 Clementine is funny without being cloying and I love the way the adults talk to her—with respect and amusement。 I feel like this series doesn’t get its due; it’s SO much better than that painful Junie B Jones that’s in “kid speak” (i。e。 bad grammar and just obnoxious)。 Clementine is curious without being a brat。

Clementine struggles to find a talent to share in the upcoming talent show。 As always, Clementine solves her problem in a creative way。 I enjoyed the humor and Clementine's antics with her brother。 A fun book! What a character Clementine is: she’s a free spirit and is adorable in her own little ways。 This chapter book series are a perfect read aloud with kids。 Recommended for grade 3 kids and up。

Alright Sara Pennypacker, you might as well send the rest of the series to my house because I love Clementine。 I give this 5 talented birds out of 5。 My daughter and I laughed out loud multiple times through this book。 This book is the perfect length for beginner chapter book listeners。 Clementine is quirky and lovable。 And that fact she renames her brother with a new vegetable every time he is mentioned is my favorite。 This series gives me some major Ramona or Junie B。 Jones vibes。 This would m Alright Sara Pennypacker, you might as well send the rest of the series to my house because I love Clementine。 I give this 5 talented birds out of 5。 My daughter and I laughed out loud multiple times through this book。 This book is the perfect length for beginner chapter book listeners。 Clementine is quirky and lovable。 And that fact she renames her brother with a new vegetable every time he is mentioned is my favorite。 This series gives me some major Ramona or Junie B。 Jones vibes。 This would make such a fun gift! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 She learns that she doesn’t have to be talented in the same way others are talented, and that her empathy and good sportsmanship and teamwork can be a kind of talent。 My daughter likes that the bully Margaret changed her tune after a bout of stagefright and ended by saying that of course lime colored sneakers were not a poor fashion choice, like she had claimed the whole first part of the story。 Sweeping statements don’t help anyone, really。

Another great Clementine book!!
